Resumen:

The fiber Bragg grating (FBG) accelerometer presented has a modified cantilever beam design, which places a section of the fiber that contains the FBG perpendicular to the cantilever surface, between the tip of the cantilever and the sensor frame. This elongates the FBG axis uniformly in order to get the highest possible strain along the grating, resulting in the enhancement of the Bragg wavelength shift and the natural frequency. And obtaining a sensitivity of 330 pm per acceleration and a bandwidth of 227.3 Hz. © 2015 IEEE.
