Resumen:

This chapter reviews a quasi-dynamic scheduling algorithm based on the self-organizing maps (SOM). Such an algorithm avoids the misclassification of the plan selection and provides a fast and valid response during the plan evaluation. The purpose of the Kohonen self-organizing feature map is to capture the topology and the probability distribution of the input data. Scheduling algorithms play an important role for pursuing the predictability during the computer network behavior. Several algorithms such as, the rate monotonic (RT), the earliest deadline first (EDF), the flexible time triggered (FTT), and the least slack time (LST), can prove useful. The difference among them is marked by the way the tasks are ordered. The scheduler is invoked once in each plan to build a static schedule that can describe the bus allocation for the next plan. To perform task reallocation, the macrocycle of N tasks is divided into smaller windows called the elementary cycles (ECs), which are further divided into basic units that are multiples of the consumption times of every task. © 2006 Elsevier Ltd All rights reserved.
