Resumen:

The consequence of free radicals in inflammation and other health effects has been widely studied in different pathologies. Air pollutants are a good example of the damage originated by free radicals in the lung and in other systems Free radicals formation induces other alterations, such as: neurodegenerative diseases, infertility, nephrotoxicity, hepatotoxicity, reprotoxicity, teratogenicity and cancer. Metals are an important source of free radicals, and also are one of the main pollutants worldwide. For this reason it is of high interest in health area to study the mechanisms of free radicals formation, its effects and possible treatments. © 2010 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
