Resumen:

Al-HMS supported catalysts were synthesized by simultaneous impregnation to clarify the effect of promoter (Co vs. Ni) on the HDS activity of ternary systems (Co(Ni), Mo, W). The sulfided catalysts were tested in the HDS of dibenzothiophene performed in a batch reactor at 623 K and 3.1 MPa. The highest catalytic activity was observed for NiMoW/Al-HMS catalyst. This behavior was ascribed to the larger amount of Mo6+(W6+) ions in octahedral coordination, which were susceptible to develop the HDS active sites.
