Resumen:

The present work investigates by FE analysis how the bonding area between filaments of the same layer (intra-layer bonding) and filaments of successive layers (inter-layer bonding) affects the Young's modulus of parts made by FDM process. A straight contact area between filaments is considered and a ratio bonding (BR) is proposed. X-ray computed tomography (X-ray CT) images of the parts were obtained to determine the real BR in FDM parts. FEA results show reduction of the Young's modulus of the FDM part in agreement with previous works.
