Resumen:

The aim of this study is the comparison of the porosity of two different material stages used in the FDM technology, which are the bulk material (canister) and the extruded material. The pieces manufactured by FDM are constructed by the extrusion of filaments creating thin layers; these filaments contain pores in its internal structure. This pores are analyzed by means of a non-destructive test, the CT. There are other voids generated due to the deposition process of filaments (e. g. space between them), but are not in the scope of this study. CT scans were performed to samples in order to analyze and compare the porosity of the filaments in the two stages of interest. The total porosity and pore size of each sample were observed and calculated using Volume Graphics ? software.
