Resumen:

The main focus of hydrogeological research related to groundwater arsenic in developing countries, is to determine the concentrations, affected area or/and, origin of the element. Health effects, if detected, are reported to Water authorities. These studies are published in journals or technical Reports. The actual application of the research results in the solution of water problems is usually unknown by hydrogeologists. Water management authorities must look for integral solutions, not only to identify sites to drill new wells. Occasionally, hydrogeologists participate in epidemiological studies to evaluate health affectations and recognize communities at risk. Some Mexican examples are presented in this work. © 2016 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
