Resumen:

This paper presents the design, manufacture and dynamic analysis of a vibration test bench (VTB) for dynamic characterization of viscoelastic mounts under vibration. These damping components are typically used in the design of suspension systems for domestic washing machines and dryers. The VTB design accounts for a Scotch Yoke mechanism that performed adequately when executing a number of reliable probe vibration measurements. Measured and theoretical (Kelvin-Voigt model) vibration transmissibility curves were produced during experimentation and data collected was compared with vibration parameters published by one the manufacturers of damping mounts. Finally, the equipment operational limits are presented as an effective and easy tool that helps the operator to use the VTB securely.
