Resumen:

The rapid growth of the aquaculture during the last two decades has been accompanied by an increasing demand for aquafeeds. From several years, fish meal and oil were used as the main sources of proteins and lipids in the diets, respectively. However, with no expectations to increase the production of both ingredients to meet the demand, the industry now is using alternative sources of protein and lipids. Particularly, plant-origin meals and oils are being using in several species of carnivorous fish such as Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) and rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Most of the research has been focused in the growth performance and few attention have been given to the immune responses of the fish fed diets with plant meals and oils. In here, we present results of immune responses (non-specific mainly) of fingerlings and juveniles of rainbow trout fed different diets with high contents of different soybean products. In general, non-specific immune responses (lysozyme activity, macrophage burst activity) were not affected by the inclusion of high levels of soybean protein products during periods around 90 days. Besides these finding, a brief review of the effects of another immune responses are included for the rainbow trout when fed other plant-origin protein sources. © 2017 Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
