Resumen:

Because the superstructure of the San Cristobal Bridge was erected in two halves using the incremental launching technique, and with the purpose of verifying the matching of the two sides during construction, different type of sensors were considered and placed on locations previously studied. Displacement, temperature and deformation online records, mainly at first eight segments, were used to monitor and control movements along the deck. Corrective actions were also proposed during launching for enhancing the vertical and horizontal alignments and match both superstructures. This paper describes the construction process of the superstructures, the type of controls considered to verify the geometry of the bridge during launching, and some issues arose during the final assembly of the two halves.
