Resumen:

We present a technique using a low-cost optical setup based on a pickup head of a commercial CD/DVD system for PDMS micropatterning with direct application in fabrication of on-demand cell culture platforms. Localized laser-induced incandescence enabled etching of the surface of transparent polymers with desired microfeatures to produce microstructured PDMS layers directly or as soft-lithographic replicas from PMMA molds. C9 hepatic cells were then seeded on PDMS, validating our technique for biomimetic platform construction as several features were made and the cells behaved accordingly.
