Resumen:

Primates have the ability to form social systems with many hierarchical levels; it is evident that those species have a code for interaction between the members of a group. Humans are the only primate specie that have a structured verbal language and as other species must communicate using sounds and gestures, both facial and somatic. Nervous system organizes movement and also interprets the others' movement. The aim of this chapter is to expose the concept of motor imagery as a phenomenon occurring in the brain besides the real motor execution. Motor imagery also helps individuals to understand other actions and internal states, which may be the basis of body language. We also want to discuss the idea of a phylogenetical memory for motor behaviors and the fact that many of these behaviors are present along the ontogeny. © 2018 Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
