Resumen:

Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) are essential systems in flying machines. Such systems have as core component an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), where there are two principal kind of sensors: gyroscopes and accelerometers. The last ones generate an electrical signal with a frequency that depends of the acceleration experienced by the sensor. In this case, if such a frequency is properly quantified, the magnitude of the acceleration can be calculated. Therefore, due the characteristics in the movement of an aircraft, the response time of the IMU is critical. For this reason is of interest, in the case of the accelerometer, to obtain the best approximations to the generated frequency in the shortest possible time. In previous works such a task has been reported. But in these cases, it was only considered one-dimensional case. In this work, a theoretical study shows preliminary results in the simultaneous measurement of three signals generated by a 3-axis accelerometer. © 2019 IEEE.
