Resumen:

High arsenic concentrations are found in water discharged by hydrothermal vents in Bahía Concepción, Baja California Sur. The theoretical concentrations of the different As aqueous species, calculated with a speciation model, show that arsenic is present in reduced form. Mixing of a reduced fluid (hydrothermal fluid) with an oxidizing fluid (seawater) could form iron and manganese oxides that adsorb arsenic. © 2010 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
