Resumen:

The 1985 Michoacan earthquake has been considered the most destructive seismic event for the Mexico City's primary water system (MCWS). This has recently motivated the study of the possible seismic damage due to future earthquakes. The main objective of this paper is to estimate the possible serviceability indexes associated to the occurrence of future coastal earthquakes; this could be a good tool to develop contingency plans aimed to reestablish the water service as soon as possible after a large earthquake.
