Resumen:

The concept of controlled crystallization of a glass refers to the separation of a crystalline phase of the precursor glass. This is normally in the form of fine crystals where the number of crystals, their velocity of growth and their final dimension are controlled by the application of and adequate cycle of thermal treatment. Currently, in order to increase their application, there is a need of substantial changes within the process of the treatment of glass material and glassceramics. In the present work, we are offering preliminary results concerning a microstructural and mineralogical characterization of a series of glass-ceramic materials of the SiO 2-AI2O3-Li2O system that have been obtained using MoO3, V2O3, Y2O 3 and TiO2 as nucleant agents.
