Resumen:

Deep-water stomatopods and decapod crustaceans were collected during an exploratory survey off Central America in 2010 aboard the R/V "Miguel Oliver. " A total of 105 trawling operations were performed off Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. Species captured during these operations are reported, including one species of stomatopod and 25 species of decapods. New geographic records are provided for Haliporoides diomedeae, Solenocera agassizii, Pasiphaea emarginata, and Portunus xantusii. Compared to the entire eastern Pacific, the number of species of decapod crustaceans collected off Central America is low and represents only 16% of species recorded below 350 m depth. This percentage increases to 26% when compared to the fauna occurring below 350 off western Mexico. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020. All rights reserved.
