Resumen:

Perovskite-like structures are an important class of multifunctional materials, specifically for ferroelectric materials. The tunability of the crystal anisotropy and the related bi-stable polarization characteristics (piezo/pyroelectricity) rises in many applications. The high degree of flexibility that the perovskite structure has, allows to host metal ions of a wide range of sizes and valences as well as to accept disorder in both A and B-sites. Although this great material ability, perovskite-like structure for ferroelectric and related polar materials still faces a great challenge for compositional and miniaturization design. This chapter summarizes some advances in recently studied perovskite-based materials with high spontaneous polarization as alternatives for some electrical applications. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd.
