Resumen:

In this chapter, we describe different benign vascular lesions, including iatrogenic necrosis, spontaneous infarction, superficial migratory thrombophlebitis (Thrombophlebitis migrans), subclavian and axillary vein thrombosis, and Mondor's disease. Fat necrosis or iatrogenic thrombosis is a benign inflammatory process that originates in adipose mammary tissue. Spontaneous infarction is a rare entity. Superficial migratory thrombosis is a disease in which phlebitis appears in small segments and that is characterized by multiple recurrences in a variety of localizations and at a variety of times. Upper limb thrombosis is a rare condition that has exhibited an increase in recent decades and that is, in many cases, due to lifestyle and to novel therapeutic modalities, while Mondor's disease or thrombophlebitis of the venous-thoracoepigastric system is localized, benign, and transitory. All of these have in common that they should be differentiated from infection, inflammation and, rarely, from carcinoma. © 2014 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc. All rights reserved.
