Resumen:

ADHD syndrome is one of most frequent diagnosis given to children of pre-school and school age according to DSM-IV/V. Normally, specialists describe only diverse negative symptoms related to the function of attention. According to qualitative neuropsychological perspective, it?s possible not only to describe difficulties, but also to determine specific factors, which joint all this difficulties from the point of view of functional participation of brain mechanisms in children?s activity. This idea is related to the concept of neuropsychological syndrome, which offers the possibility to analyses manifestation of difficulties on different levels from interdisciplinary perspective. The goal of this chapter is to present data of results of qualitative clinic neuropsychological assessment together with conclusions of qualitative analysis of EEG as essential components of analysis of neuropsychological syndrome. The participants of the study are Mexican preschool and school children with diagnosis of ADDH. Participation of children was voluntary with concern of parents and teachers. Both neuropsychological and electrophysiological analysis was provided in individual sessions to all children. Neuropsychological assessment was applied to a group of Mexican pre-school children with ADDH according to qualitative approach. The results pointed out the present of differential functional profiles from neuropsychological perspective. Electrophysiological data suggest also differential involvement of different levels of subcortical levels. The authors discuss impossibility to explain all cases only by ?problems with attention? or reduce them to frontal cortical dysfunction, which is the most typical explanation of the reason of attention deficit. Interdisciplinary approach for qualitative clinic analysis offers interesting data in relation to understanding of causes of attention deficit disorder symptoms in children and their relations with level of maturation and functional stage of diverse subcortical levels. © 2020 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
