Resumen:

Continuous high-energy consumption and depletion of fossil fuel reserves lead societies to increase green and clean energy generation from renewable sources, such as geothermal heat, solar radiation and heat, water flow, and wind. Although there are advantages of renewable energy sources, their use is limited due to intermittency in the production. Thus, combination of various energy conversion and storage devices is needed for an efficient exploitation of renewable energy sources. Recently, electrochemical devices, like batteries, fuel cells (FC), and supercapacitors (SC) have emerged as very attractive technologies and ongoing research is focusing on improving the performance of these devices. © 2024 Omar Solorza Feria and Sathish-Kumar Kamaraj.
