Resumen:

The international financial crisis originated in the U.S. real estate market in 2008, and in months it had spread to the entire world. In the case of Mexico, the GDP fell 9 percent in 2009 but recovered the production levels that preceded the crisis by 2010. For various reasons, including the fragility of government revenues, the application of macro policies to reduce the impact of adverse external shocks has been somewhat absent in the country?s economic history. The great exception was the quick and wise response of the fiscal and monetary authorities in 2009 to deal with the international financial crisis. © Sara Hsu 2023. All rights reserved.
