Resumen:

The purposes of the present study were to determine whether there were relationships between the degree to which confinement affected people, and anxiety, depression, positive and negative affect, and satisfaction with life, as well as to determine whether there were differences between heterosexuals, homosexuals, and bisexuals in the levels of these variables. A total of 164 Mexican adults between 19 and 74 years of age participated voluntarily; most of them were engaged in university studies, worked and were in confinement. The depression and anxiety subscales of the Revised Symptom Inventory, the Affect Scale, the Satisfaction with Life Scale, and an item that asked participants how much being in isolation had affected them, were used. The results showed significant relationships between the variables and differences between the heterosexual and bisexual groups on the dimensions of anxiety, depression, and affect. The results are compared with previous literature. © The Author(s), 2023. All rights reserved.
