Resumen:

Violence in Mexico and the world is a structural and systemic health problem. However, the measures taken in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, which sought to protect the population from this disease, had a negative impact and contributed to an increase in violence. Social isolation in Mexico (i.e., home confinement), exacerbated the problems experienced by victims living next to their aggressors; specifically, due to the lack of social support and close support networks, the closure of different places, and the stress caused by the isolation measure. The research done in this country shows that there is a moderate to high prevalence in the manifestation of different types of violence during this time. It also showed that the measure of social isolation, the degree of affectation by it and having problems with the partner during this period, increased the majority of the types of violence. © The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.
