Resumen:

This chapter provides a basic conceptual introduction to the planar-fractal method. The method is then contextualized with respect to multivariate typology. The structure of the database based on this method is then described and an illustration of what the database can be used for is also provided. Four issues related to contextualizing constituency in typological context are then assessed in relation to the data gathered in the current volume: (i) the index of synthesis; (ii) the absence of a priori wordhood tests; (iii) the relative reliability of wordhood tests; and (iv) the word bisection thesis. © 2024, the authors.
