However, laser beam sources are required, which can be expensive and not easily accessible to scholars and researchers. In this work, several commercial LED sources are proposed as light sources to be implemented in interferometric tests. The condition is that these should be quasi-monochromatic and have a coherent length of a few micrometers. Therefore, a spectral profile analysis is performed to determine the wavelength and coherence length of the light sources. The preliminary result shows that the coherence lengths for the following commercial LEDs: violet, blue, green, and red are 7.523, 5.176, 6.156 and 7.971 micrometers, respectively. In accordance with the analytical and experimental results obtained, the proposed sources can be used to see interference fringes.
