Resumen:

© 2025 IEEE.This study proposes a methodology for determining the correlation between the frequency of incidents in El Salvador's electricity grid and high temperatures in the region of Mexico. For this analysis, the data is limited to the hottest months of three years (2022-2024) and the hours of the day when the highest temperatures are recorded. Nine cases corresponding to February, March, and April of each year are proposed. The criteria for determining whether there is a correlation in the cases to be studied and, if so, its intensity are also described. After conducting the analysis, the results show that in one of the nine proposed cases there is a correlation between temperature and the number of events; furthermore, the correlations corresponding to these three cases range from moderate to strong. For this case, temperature data is only available for the Tapachula region of Mexico, but this methodology is intended to be applied with data from the rest of Mexico's regions to obtain more accurate results.
