Resumen:

© 2026 selection and editorial matter, Monika Meireles, Vania López, Elizabeth Concha, and Antonio Mendoza; individual chapters, the contributors. The chapter starts with a review of the notion of ?sustainable development? in some authors of Latin American structuralism and seeks to study the main challenges in the field of financing that Mexico faces in promoting a development strategy that encourages better income distribution while being simultaneously sensitive to ecological issues and those affecting populations most impacted by environmental disasters. In this regard, the authors identify three areas of pending tasks: (a) reactivating public development banks and promoting the popular savings system; (b) expanding the scope and direction of fiscal policy; and (c) stimulating the channeling of private resources for financing sustainable development.
