Resumen:

This paper deals with the problem of finite-time state estimation for a class of nonlinear systems possibly affected by modeling uncertainties. The proposed method, based on the high-order sliding mode control approach, is applied to develop a finite time converging state observer for a compressor system modeled by the nonlinear Moore-Greitzer system of equations. With the plenum pressure available for measurements, the proposed scheme is able to reconstruct the system state even when the compressor static characteristics is uncertain. Simulation results are provided and commented. ©2008 IEEE.
