Resumen:

© 2026 World Scientific Publishing Company. This chapter deals with the stabilization of a disturbed reaction wheel pendulum (RWP). The proposed approach exploits an active disturbance rejection scheme. The method considers a high-order sliding modes (HOSM) observer that theoretically estimates the states and disturbances in finite time. Later, the estimated disturbance value is injected through the control law to robustly stabilize the RWP. The closed-loop stability of the observer-controller scheme is carried out by means of the Lyapunov theory. Experimental results illustrate the performance and feasibility of the proposed method.
